pencil

I find pencil drawings most interesting as they seem to me the typical medium to research visual, but also verbal thought. A pencil drawing is like a diary page of someone’s mind, mostly so with over-layered lines, looking for the best one, or with unfinished parts. As opposed to large colorful paintings, pencil drawings tend to keep themselves more in the background, which gives them the potential to be occasionally more disturbing in a silent manner.
In any case they seem more suggestive to me than making the determined statement of a darker and stronger outlined or colored image, which is why I recently am thinking a lot about them as designs for tattoos on the human body.
