Apparently she was excommunicated by her large and wealthy Austrian family that at the time was lead by a very nationalist aunt as a result of her marrying Larry’s Native American great-grandfather. This union at the same time, ironically so, had also the effect that he too was shunned by his own family, who had hoped he would marry within the tribe to keep the bloodline.

The ribbon was allegedly, so Larry claims anyways, one of the few memories the great-grandma had kept from her Austrian heritage, at the time it was part of a ball gown, but those days are long gone and now it sports on Larry’s red hat. “There goes the nationalism of two nations who could have instead started a lineage of friendship and exchange of culture with each other!” Larry is laughing. But all those people are long dead and buried by now, today only Larry is left, smoking weed on Cooks Lane, if not worse.
