ホテル Hotel – Cooks Lane: Chiaki, ChoCho and Starfish outside at night

Same shooting, some colour pictures: Chiaki, ChoCho and Starfish hanging out at night outside in front of the hotel, on 2nd Street and Cooks Lane.

At the turn of the century 100 years ago until the mid 60’s this used to be a spot for street prostitutes, and the hotel was renting rooms by the hour.
Vincent has some old photos of it back then he showed me, here’s one of them from the 30’s:

In our days the rooms are for long-residency tenants, strictly no prostitution, instead most people I met so far work as part-time photo models and many as drag performers, almost all are “some kind of artist” or, if not that, “some kind of artist muse”. As of on the street, I don’t want to say there is absolutely none of the olden days’ business at all any longer, but most of it is cleaned up; now it’s more a hang out place, with the occasional drug deal going on, sometimes just selling a bike or a nice leather jacket:
